Simon Cowell’s Reaction To New “Idol” Judge Carrie Underwood

It’s a full circle kind of thing for Carrie Underwood to return to the show that made her famous 20 years later, this time sitting in the judge’s seat!  So what does Simon Cowell think of the choice?

“Carrie [and I], we go back a long way.  I remember her audition like it was yesterday.  She was so good, she’s such a sweet person.” So what words of wisdom would he pass along to her?  “You gotta just say how you feel.  It’s not that difficult doing this job, I promise you.  We all feel the same things, and we don’t agree, thank God.  Otherwise, life would be boring.”

She says she thinks she can be “honest and constructive, but still kind….because people are coming in and it’s dreams. You’re a part of someone’s story at that point.”

The new season of “American Idol” with Underwood, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan launches next year.
