National Wireless Emergency Alert Test Set For Wednesday, Oct. 3rd

There will be a nationwide wireless emergency alert test that will be sent to wireless accounts. The system message distributed will read, “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”

The alarm test will happen at 10:18am, with an EAN (Emergency Alert Notice) in the form of a text sent at 10:20am.  You will not be able to opt out of this test.

Following this test, the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management would like your comments.  They have a survey set up on the State of Alaska’s website.
