Friday morning a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck at 8:29 a.m. near Pt MacKenzie.  We continue to feel aftershocks and there are multiple reports of road damage. There is major infrastructure damage all across the Valley and Anchorage as many homes and buildings have sustained some damage. If you do not need to drive, please stay off the roads and if you plan to or need to drive somewhere, please stay off your cell phone.

All Anchorage and most Valley schools are closed Monday and Tuesday, with the exception of Willow, Trapper Creek, Talkeetna and Su-Valley. Those schools will be open.
