Dan + Shay Won More Awards
Even though there were only two country categories at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards, Dan + Shay won them both! Their hit “Speechless” won Choice Country Song and they were named Choice Country Artist during Sunday Night’s broadcast.
They earned more vote than Brett Young, Kacey Musgraves, Kane Brown, Kelsea Ballerini and Thomas Rhett to win the artist category. For song, they bested Maren Morris’ “Girl,” Kane Brown’s “Good As You,” Thomas Rhett “Look What God Gave Her,” Kelsea Ballerini “Miss Me More,” and Kacey Musgraves “Rainbow.”
This adds to a tremendous year for the duo, these trophies follow tremendous success at the 2019 ACM Awards, where they won Duo, Single and Song of the Year. Nominations for the 2019 CMA Awards are expected in the next two to three weeks, and they will no doubt be favorites in the Duo category.
Unfortunately, there were unable to attend. During the telecast on Fox, Taylor Swift was presented with the inaugural Icon Award.
